The following are examples of boxes and slip cases that I have made for various journals, guest books, and other unique journals. I can make these for any journals on this site or for custom items.
The first is a Pop Up Clam Shell box that I re-created. It is a clam shell box with a slip case and journal inside. As you open the clam shell, the journal rises up from the slip case. The journal was designed for the pop up clam shell box. Journal is 4.25” X 4.5”, has 160 blank pages, and a title page. The paper is Mohawk Superfine 70lb. paper and is fountain pen friendly. The journal is sewn using a double needle coptic stitch.
The large brown journal is a church directory that I made using a traditional Coptic stitch. The journal is 9" X 11 1/2" and is made using brown goat leather and hand marbled paper. The slip case is covered in Japanese book cloth.
The Black and red journal and slip case is a binding of thirty birthday cards that my wife sent my daughter for her 30th birthday. The covers are black goat leather with a red "30" goat leather onlay. The slip case is black book cloth.
The journal with the blue slip case is a personal journal that I made a slip case for.
The black and red box is a clam shell box that I made to hold my mother's diary. The diary is very fragile and it needed a protective case. The case is covered with black book cloth and red and black Japanese paper. The inside is lined with ultra suede.
The brown circular cigar box with two small journals is a Foundry Tobacco Company Cigar Box. Diameter 7 3/8". I made two personal journals, one for each compartment. Journals are 4" X 5". Both journals are made with black goat leather and red leather onlays. The gas mask journal is bound using the coptic stitch and has 160 pages of Mohawk Superfine 70 lb. paper.
The journal with the nuclear power plant is traditionally bound with full black goat leather and red onlay. Headbands are red goat leather, end sheets are Canson 90lb paper. Pages are Mohawk Superfine 70lb paper.
